2. Hosting with GitHub Pages
This static website is provided through GitHub Pages. GitHub lists the following privacy contacts:

GitHub states that whenever a GitHub Pages website is visited, the visitor’s IP address is logged and stored for security purposes, whether or not the visitor is signed in. Depending on the interaction, additional technically necessary connection and usage data may be processed, such as the request time, requested page, browser and device information, and referring page.
The processing is necessary to provide the website securely, reliably and without technical errors. To the extent that we determine the use of this hosting service, the legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest is the secure and reliable provision of this website.
Recipients may include GitHub, its affiliates and service providers. Data may be processed in the United States and other countries. The European Commission has adopted an adequacy decision under Article 45 GDPR for transfers to US organisations certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. GitHub Inc. states that it is certified under that framework. Where the adequacy decision does not apply, GitHub states that it generally relies on the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses under Implementing Decision (EU) 2021/914 for international transfers. Further information is available in GitHub’s Privacy Statement (opens in a new tab). The Standard Contractual Clauses (opens in a new tab) are available through the cited Implementing Decision.
We do not maintain our own visitor logs. GitHub does not publish a fixed retention period specifically for GitHub Pages IP logs. Its general statement describes purpose-based retention for security, contractual, legal and dispute-related requirements.
Transmission of the IP address and technical connection data is necessary to deliver the website. Without this data, the website cannot be displayed. Visitors are not under any statutory or contractual obligation to provide it.
3. Cookies, analytics and external resources
The website code supplied by us does not set cookies and does not use analytics, advertising or tracking tools. No usage profiles are created. The selected language is not stored permanently on the visitor’s device.
Fonts, images, stylesheets and scripts are served locally from the website project. No Google Fonts, external CDNs or automatically loaded social-media content are used.
GitHub’s general Privacy Statement describes cookies and similar technologies across GitHub services. We have no control over GitHub’s underlying infrastructure.
4. External links
This website contains ordinary links to external services such as GitHub, LinkedIn, WhatsApp, Microsoft and publication pages. Merely displaying this website does not connect the visitor to those services. When a link is activated, the destination provider receives technically necessary connection data, including the visitor’s IP address, and is responsible for its subsequent processing.
5. Contact
This website does not contain a contact form. Email and telephone links initially only open the relevant application configured on the visitor’s device. Activating a link to an external service such as WhatsApp or LinkedIn instead establishes a connection to that provider. A message reaches us only when you send it there.
If you contact us by email, telephone, WhatsApp or through a professional network, we process the contact details and message content you provide in order to respond. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(b) GDPR where the request concerns a contract or pre-contractual steps, and otherwise Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest is responding appropriately to enquiries.
Email communication currently uses a Hotmail account provided by Microsoft. Recipients may therefore include Microsoft Ireland Operations Limited, Microsoft Corporation and their service providers. Microsoft may process personal data in the United States and other countries. Microsoft Corporation states that it is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. Where no adequacy decision applies, Microsoft identifies, in particular, the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses as a transfer safeguard. Further information about international transfers, safeguards and data-subject rights is available in Microsoft’s Privacy Statement (opens in a new tab).
If you contact us through WhatsApp, we process, in particular, your telephone number, profile information made available by you, timestamps and the content of your message in order to respond to your enquiry. The legal bases and deletion criteria described above apply. Use of WhatsApp is voluntary; you may contact us by email or telephone instead.
For users in the European Region, WhatsApp is provided by WhatsApp Ireland Limited, Merrion Road, Dublin 4, D04 X2K5, Ireland. WhatsApp may transfer data to WhatsApp LLC, Meta Platforms, Inc. and other recipients in the United States or other countries. WhatsApp states that it relies on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework for certain US transfers and otherwise uses, in particular, Standard Contractual Clauses. WhatsApp states that personal messages and calls are end-to-end encrypted. Metadata and data stored on end devices or in backups may remain unaffected. Details and access to the safeguards are available in WhatsApp’s Privacy Policy (opens in a new tab).
When you contact us by telephone, the telecommunications providers involved may receive connection data.
We delete personal data from our own communication systems once the request has been fully resolved, unless statutory retention duties or overriding legitimate grounds require longer storage. The communication providers' own retention periods are governed by their respective privacy notices.
6. Your rights
Subject to the statutory requirements, you have the right to:
- access under Article 15 GDPR,
- rectification under Article 16 GDPR,
- erasure under Article 17 GDPR,
- restriction of processing under Article 18 GDPR, and
- data portability under Article 20 GDPR.
Where processing is based on Article 6(1)(f), you may object under Article 21 on grounds relating to your particular situation. To exercise your rights, contact the controller using the details above.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint under Article 77 GDPR. The competent authority in Bremen is:

7. Automated decisions
No automated decision-making or profiling within the meaning of Article 22 GDPR takes place.
8. Encryption
GitHub Pages provides the website through HTTPS. This encrypts the transfer between your browser and the website while in transit.
